October Book List
October’s booklist is full of autumn mystery—rustling leaves, jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows, fungus and fluttering bats. I’ve incorporated a few classic, cozy thrills but without the fright. These are perfect stories for “spooky month” without being scary to help all readers enjoy the delights of the season.
This is a curated collection of beloved stories from my classroom and our home, and some new titles that we put on our list to try. I hope you enjoy reading these together as the nights grow longer and the season settles in.
Please note that some readers may still find some of the stories scary (although that’s not my intention). We may be skipping some of these till she’s older. I’m looking at you Hansel and Gretel and The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
